Or we may seem to function well, while struggling with difficult, ongoing problems. Our relationships may be stressful, or loneliness may leave us feeling empty. We may experience intense distress when someone close to us is suffering. At times, the hassles of daily life can just pile up, leaving us out of touch with feelings of happiness, calm, empathy, or purpose.
